I've owned and used a number of scanners before...
So far Epson and HP has left me good impressions. For HP even their low-end models impressed me. But now I use Epson, so much vote for what I use lah! ![]() |

why so many of the members choose Epson?
Is the software or the scan quality of Epson better as compare to Canon and HP flatbed scanner? I thinking of buying Canonscan 3200F,now thinking of the coming 4200F(a replacement for 3200F),I love the preview speed of this scanner only 2.6secs, a very fast scanners. Between Epson and Canon, which scan quality is better? ![]() |

Epson scanners are very fast.
I bought the Canon LiDE based on Mike Chaney's (author of Profileprism and Qimage) published recommendation. Its colour accuracy is supposedly extremely high when using vuescan software to make 48bit raw scans. For some reason the LiDE is not affected as much by metamerism as CCD scanners. I also find the bus-powered interface convenient as I don't want yet another power cord cluttering up the place... |

Hi, within the same price bracket they are close in result... of interest tho...
I had a Canon Lide scanner on display for 6 months (between model upgrades) and more than once a day I demonstrated it by dropping it 4 inches (flat) on to the bench (no mirrors to break). When it was the last of that model, a customer asked to buy it. I told him I have dropped it every day. I showed it working and he bought it without asking for a discount ![]()
