That is not iTTL unfortunately... the SB-800 can be a slave to almost all cameras that does not use a pre-flash

iTTL and SU4 mode are different. In iTTL you can control the exposure output by each SB800 unit independently of each other, from the master unit itself. In SU4 mode, you have to move to each and every unit and adjust the exposure of that unit.
iTTL was developed so that you can control 4 channels independently and all of these can be done without leaving your camera. |

SU-4 mode is to make the SB-800 be triggered off by another flash source, similar to the SU-4 remotes available by Nikon. WillyFoo is correct, there's no TTL, no D-TTL, no i-TTL. It's just flash.

Suggest use cable connection to slave flashes, instead of wireless mode using infared light type. Cheers. Last edited by eric69; 24th September 2004 at 10:32 AM. |

Anybody experience this problem? I use the 70-200 f2.8 on the D70/SB800 but the flash sync spd can't go below f4?

If you are talking about aperture setting - are you in P (or Auto) mode ? If so, it won't go below f/4 no matter what lens. You need to use A or S (aperture or shutter priority) mode (or Manual mode) |
