Hi Van, most of us going to Siem Reap on 15/09/11 till 18/09/11 AND then we extend to Phnom Penh till 20/09/11. So is you can't take leave that long, then we'll tour with you in Siem Reap till 18/09/11 lor. But you must get return tix from Siem Reap.

You can reach the place and engage a guide. The guides wear light brown uniforms with a badge on the left arm.

I walked on my own. In fact you should head down to Pub St, there are some shops selling fake angkor guides, kids are selling them too. You can buy, read it and explore on your own. Before I left Cambodia, i bought Ancient Angkor by river guide books at the airport. It tells you what time to see which wall and stuff. Also depicts the stories of most temples.

There is a big bookstore at the corner of old market. It is near the Siem Reap river. It sells genuine books.

The tuktuks also offer to be our guide. But I guess you pay peanuts you get monkey. There are plenty of tour agencies at Pub st so no worries.

You can rent MTBs. The road is flat anyway so cycling isn't hard and it's a great way to meet locals.

    Hi all,

Just to update on our last meeting. We have decided and confirm on the dates.

    Departure
    Singapore - Siem Reap
    Jetstar, 15/09/2011, Thursday, 1450hrs (SGD 125)

    Return
    Phnom Penh - Singapore
    Jetstar, 20/09/2011, Tuesday, 1815hrs (USD 65 = SGD 79)

Payables per person (not inclusive of flights)
    Hotel/Transport/Guide = < SGD 250
    Tickets/Temple Entrance Fees = < SGD 105

Total: Flight SGD 204 (no excess baggage) + Hotels SGD 250 + Temples SGD 105 = SGD 559

*The total price does not include personal spending eg: lunch/dinner (breakfast and water provided), shopping.
** The price is still NOT finalized and MAY be cheaper because this is based on 7-8 person thus it's more expensive on our accommodation.

And please book your flight during these few days. The Siem Reap price jumps up a little but still lesser than when this thread started. Phnom Penh ticket still a lowUSD 35.

I am thinking of applying Visa On Arrival. Any idea if there is any issue with that? If so then I will apply online.

I need to give the final namelist to our guide by next week before Fri. The list need to include full name as in identity card. PM me your names. The guide will also need ONE photocopy of passport. (I will give mine). Once the list submitted, our guide Sowanna can book our hotels.

    Hotels we will be staying:
    Siem Reap - www.villa.goldentemplevilla.com
    Phnom Penh - www.royal-inn.net

@Subhasish, If your friend confirmed, submit his full name to me. I also heard Visa on Arrival is usually cheaper.

Back-up plans: Just in case, if we didn't get the guide or hotel booked for whatever reason, we will still go ahead on this trip because some of us have already book flights. We can also make hotel bookings on our own. There's also abundance supply of transports and guides we can get there so no need to worry. Itineraries, we can follow based on what Sowanna has provide us. I will book my flight soon.
