Talking which lenses to buy?

hi fellow nikonians,
i am new and need some help.i am using a 35-200mm len currently, when shooting i find that there is a minimum distance that i must keep from the object to get it in focus..i can get a closer shot but i need to move back and zoom in which sometimes will cause the pic to be out of proportion. do i need to but those 'super dopple long lenses' to get the desire effect? ( heard they cost a bomb too ) or a basic series of lenses that i need to own? currently i am holding on to a 80-240mm len as well.
thanks......

Default From the sound...

...of the range of your lenses , they don't seem like good quality lenses. For your desired effect (micro) you'd probably need at least a 60mm F2.8 (which I have and loving it!). This awesome lens gets you about 1 cm from your subject in super sharp focus with amazing 1:1 ratio.

Use your current lenses as paper weights or doorstops and invest in better Nikon lenses.

Also...with a motto like yours...I wonder what you'd need the macro lens for

*scratch head* wat are u shooting? i dun think u really need a macro lens. minimum focusing distance of a typical 200mm lens can be ard 1.5meter. so no surprise that u will need to move back alot to reach proper focus. ur lens seem to be one of those, i believe it's one of those older generation tokina 35-200mm lens.

wat i think u really need is a lens that can focus maybe ard 50cm away from the target. any of those 28-80mm zooms should do the job well.

if u love the zoom range ur 35-200 lens gives u, maybe u can consider one of those lastest generation tamrom 28-200, that lens can focus as close as 50cm at the 200mm mark.

Huh AF-S 70-240mm? AF-S 28-100mm? I think you mean AF-D and AF G right, unless Nikon came out with some new lenses while my back was turned..
