    THANK You BB

Will consider between Tamron 90mm & Canon EF 100mm for now. *Gosh*

Thank so much Spree! You've been really helpful!

Hmmm so right now I will be stuck between Tamron 90mm & Canon EF 100mm. Will do some reading up. Thanks!

My opinion only... I would choose Canon's 100mm f2.8 or 100mm f2.8L over Tamron. Not that Tamron is a bad lens or its IQ is inferior, it is just that I don't like the front element being extended when focusing. I like the Canon's version whereby the lens focus silently and its front element don't extend or retract (something which I find quite convenient especially when I am shooting some nervous bug).

I agreed with what others say too... an external flash is almost a must for macro shooting. so be sure to take that into your budget too.

Thanks so much Rhino. I get you.

Regarding external flash, I was thinking about Nissin di622. Consider alright? Thanks in advance

For macro and portraite uses, good enough. Many of my buddies are using the Nissin... some are using Yongnuo.

Jus my personal opinion, Tammy 90mm would be a reasonable/gd macro/ portrait lens if on a budget since it cost ard 500+ and if u get it in hk it's $400+.
I use my Tammy mainly for portraits( not reali into macro yet)
If u wanna try it out, I dun mind lending ya tgt wif nissin 622mk2 which I'm using ^^
To you, they may be just a pet but to them, u r their everything

Nope, the Tamron 90mm is a true macro lens, you can use it to shoot macro as it is.
