Lightbulb STUCK in choosing CAMERA LENS

    Dear All,

I am stuck in choosing Lens for my current Canon 7D. Below is few images(Sorry I couldn't post images therefore only links available) which I wish to achieve from the lens. Kindly advise!

    2. Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro Lens
    3. Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Lens
    4. Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 Di Macro Lens

Examples Images which I am planning to capture after the above purchase

Some of the sample shots are clearly macro lenses. Get the 90mm Tamron or the 100mm Canon.

For macro lens, get the EF 100mm f2.8L macro lens (HIS), it is a fabulous lens. For extreme close up shoot, you can even add a reverse 50mm lens to it.

All the above photos are taken using a 100mm f2.8 macro lens + 50mm f1.8II (reverse) via a macro coupler.

He reverse mounted a 50mm on his macro lens using a male to male coupler ring. You get higher magnification but as you can see, heavy vignetting is a problem

You can use it if you reverse mount it but its too much trouble. With your budget, I will get a dedicated macro lens.

For macro shots I will definitely get a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 L HIS USM Macro. Excellent IQ and 4 stops Hybrid Image Stabilization is just amazing if sometimes you are shooting hand held.
    | 5D Mark III | 24-70mm F2.8L MK II | 70-200mm F2.8L IS MK II | 600 EX-RT | Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG (A) |

Well, the Tamron 90mm's IQ is comparable to the 100 L and flash is used most of the time during macro to freeze the subject. So the TS should consider carefully what is needed
