Went for the heron watch on saturday morning. Spotted quite a varity of birdies but were not able to take any pics due to location restriction

Anyway, here's my catch for the morning.

Thanks bro! Compare to many bros here, my standard still smell no smoke When I took that shot in #6, the time is around 11+am already.

When I get the chance, I might go back there to try my luck and see if I can find them there again. I was actually quite surprised to find KF at that location.

Btw, is the last one a glossy starling?

Good attempts there ccplim. I like #2, good composition and nice pose of the bird there. One point to note: try to capture the bird with a clean background as much as possible and also with a clean composition ie. make sure your subject is not accidentally blocked by sticks, twigs etc. which would throw attention off the subject. A possible solution would be to shift your position a few metres left or right, a change in perspective would result in a quite different (and possibly better) pic.

Just my 2 cts, keep shooting!

Brudder, nice shots man......wah one fine day i gotta go shoot with ya. So far i have not even gotten a single shot of any KFs, let alone getting good compo or what. Only see them flying here and there at least 50m away. Such a small bird, 50m...smell no smoke.

Thanks Garion for the comments and pointers. There was actually quite alot of restriction when I take the shot of this KF. The branch that you saw in the picture is actually from a fallen tree resting in the middle of a river. I was shooting from the river bank and thus the area that I can move about is kind of limited. Another thing is that this fella keep hopping around changing his position

Thanks for the kind comment bro 2100. I still got lots to learn from the rest of the bros (including you) here. I am just plain lucky to have spotted this fella. He was also about 50m away and I actually played around with both a 1.4 and 2x TC.

On the other hand, the lighting during that time isn't very bright so I actually have to play around alot with the exposure settings inorder to get it right. Also, too bad that I am not able to get any shot of him diving for fishes

Yo bro. Did you use the 1.4 TC? Seems pretty sharp. Is this the new lens? Anyway
