    Just read that Ricoh acquired Pentax from Hoya. Wonder what happens next.

    Haha.. Dunno. Hope this gives Pentax better direction. I always thought it good as Hoya makes excellent glass. Hoya kept the medical device segment of the business and sold off the camera division.

    What about the rumour of Tamasek acquiring Nikon and Canon with the intention of merging the two brands into one?

    Not in my books.. bitten in the Contax fold.. thank God this one I am only watching from afar!

    Hoya have made Pentax into a toy camera company. Ricoh will make Pentax into a more serious camera for professional. I believe Pentax Q will have a premature death.

    Hoya bought Pentax for $ 863 million USD
    Ricoh bought Pentax over for $124.2 million USD
    Temasek holdings will get a better deal next time

    Not the entire Pentax just the 'imaging division', so when you mention both Pentaxes they are not the same thing.
