    Thumbs down DBS Bang

    damn funny..
yday went to the dbsbank opp lido (the one near bk)

me: hi i like to repalce this broken POSB atm card
receptionist: oh that's posb. u can get an instant replacement at the office at taka

me: do u have a mailer version here?
recep: oh u can (4 days) but the current card cannot be used.

me: hmm then can u reset the pin for my mastercard whch has nets?
recep: oh no we can't, u have to get a new card with a new pin. (aka destroy this current card as well)

    sigh.
so what can I do in this bank that I can't do online?
lucky their online banking is good for me so far.

it's funny to me lor, that I can't get anything done there, as the recep keeps redirecting me *away* from her precious full-sized bank.
    my spelling is funny too

    i see

yes, it's ironical that people rely on doing stuff online even more than manual records nowadays. it used to be the other way round. the best bet to get things done smoothly is to go personally to the place.

actually makes sense, although one bank. DBS and POSB operates separately. I had a nice experience when i need to replace my POSB card and it will only take u a few minutes (ideal during lunch break too).

Be careful about using online services too often. Hackers abound. OCBC singapore just had a case of phishing.

DBS was one of the target of phishing oso but regional office ie: Hong Kong was the target eventually.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience denizenx...

hee I was griping on the fact that I went physically to the bang but they directed me elsewhere -- the same kind of directions if I went to ask the exact same questions at the mamak stall (but no aircon lol)

DBS Bank will only handle your case if there isn't any POSB Bank in that area.

Except online banking you handle both banks account through DBS online banking.

but I'm already there, so why ask me to call the *DBS* mastercard hotline? I believe they've over-compartmentalised themselves.
and it's just a pin reset why the need for a new card? hehe of course I should ask them instead.
