    Things have moved on quite a bit, you might be surprised at the current quality. As far as cost-effectiveness goes, no chance in hell that film can be anywhere near as cost effective as digital, whatever you shoot. Only the body depreciates quickly, if find one you like and use long term, what depreciation is there to speak of?

    Depreciation value of electronics is very high (unless we're talking abt DSLRs) naturally.

    With prints like 25c/piece and some places offering like 20c/piece if u print above a certain number (usually around 50 or so), digital cams (although picture quality might still be slightly inferior compared to traditional film) are getting cheaper and more cost effective now.

    U need it, u get it. Dun need it, dun buy it.

    Sony DSC-U50 good and small for da pocket. Better quality den HP Camera.
