In comparison between a dry box
    vs cupboard w/ Silica gel/Dehumidifier
vs airtight container w/ dehumidifier/silica gel.

How effective are the other 2 methods in comparison with a dry box?
Will being air tight bring much harm to the camera equipments?

Hope someone can help me out, I am still thinking if I should invest in a dry box.
    Thanks!
It isn't as foolproof as the cabinet and those are harder to maintain, especially the cupboard..

Hey dude, forget about all the other options.
Go straight for the dry-cab & it'll save you lots of time & trouble.
The dry-cab regulates the RH automatically, so you dun have to worry about too high or too low RH.
As for the silica gel in cupboard or airtight container does not work very well. Evertime you open the container, new air is being introduced & the silica gel has to work to reabsorb the moisture till it can't hold anymore & you have to replenish or recharge it. Very troblesome.
Just go get a dry-cab to ease your mind. Get a big enuff one so that you dun have to regret in not buying a bigger one
    Take the shot!

Thank you both for the fast replies, based on your reasoning, I guess I should probably use invest in a dry-cab.
50L should be more than enough for my current needs, will be looking out for one.
Thank so much for the explanations

haha. I should have thought so.
Am just back from a trip with blazing temperature, the cam still working fine.
Managed to get the cabi to stabilise at 45%.

    Hi,

    Want to check.
Realised that my cabi is normally 46%, but during the afternoon it will be 53%.
Is this normal? To be fluctuating thru the day?

Should be normal. When exterior temperature is too warm, the cooling element can't get cool enough to cause condensation and hence, reduction in moisture content.
    Exploring! :)
