When on working trip, I'll always bring all my cf cards, one 120gb external hd,
laptop & lots of dvd-r.

120GB and dvds? you shoot bollywood movies or what? why need so huge capacity?

hmm... seems like 2x512 + portable harddisk is good combination.... how about substitute portable harddisk with archos AV480?

I got a PDA that has a SD and CF slot..

I can do my transfer easily..

but won't the battery for the laptop and the portable storage drive goes flat?? dan wat u gonna do? in any case if u also suay suay cannot find powerpoint nearby??

The poll has missed out an entire class of devices - the stand alone memory card to CD-R(W) (and now DVD - R(W) ) writers.

I use a Apacer CP100 writer. And make TWO copies on seperate CDRs every time I dump a CF card.

I don't trust those HD based devices - all my valuable photos bouncing around in my bag on ONE relatively fragile hard disk. No thanks.

On longer trips i've posted the 2nd CDR dump disks home and kept one with me. Offsite backup :-)
