S$500 for a full-day coverage, 360 4R prints, 28 8R prints, originals on DVDs...I think you are selling yourself too cheap IMHO.

If you are underpricing your service, you affect not only yourself but also other photographers. Thinking about the time and investment you need to put in to get a DSLR system, upgrades, software, learning the software, etc.

Are you serious about your price or r u just pulling our legs here?

It's around the same, pretty much market rate if you were to take up the "in-house photogs" of bridal studios with 10 rolls. This is because I am able to get prints done very cheaply, so i am passing the savings back to the clients. They are not top-notch quality prints from Kodak Professional papers etc....though. But FDi labs and CA Supreme papers can't go wrong too much....at least better than the usual neighbourhood labs.

Hi,

I am no Wee Khim or top pro (see www.singaporebrides.com.sg) or offering gloryworkz top notch albums or top-of-the-line Kodak Pro prints, 1Ds with backup 1DMkII, backup flash etc.... The offer is cool because I can get my prints done cheaply. I ever heard some guys printing S8R at $8/pc in bulk, and they thought that is cheap. The albums are still pretty cool looking. I am offering a good value-for-money package for those looking at this price point.

Thumbs down Hurt the market 2

Though anyone is free to put up their fee in this free market and no one can legislate for it but in this case you're effectively bringing the base price of a actual day wedding photography to an all time low! Of course those wedding couples are the only people laughing. Just imagine from now, the price to pay is $500 for a whole day with all those things thrown in! Just do a quick calculation how much you've spent on your equipment, the long learning process, your precious time etc???
At the very least, please spare a thought for your fellow photographers, especially those who are trying to make a living out of it and with families to feed!

I totally agree... when u give such low price...have u ever think about those photographers who make a living out of it... You may think you are doing it out of the passion not for money..but spare some consideration for the pros. Times are hard for them already..and now you are making their life even harder...

I concur.

Please ! Wshooter. Rewrite your ad again, at least stating you are charging this low because you are a hobbyist and not a photog trained pro. You are hurting those like me. I didn't pay for a valued education and a B.A. in Film and photography just to get out of business because everyone else knows where to get the cheapest DSLR and the cheapest prints from labs, thinks he should do weddings and events as well.

How would you like it if I had a fleet of high schoolers to shoot for me and I pay them $10/hour as trainee temps/parttimers and I get the rest of the $30 and corner all the low end private photog market in Singapore? If you do have a day job/second job/doing this as a school holiday thingy, please be considerate.

But if you ARE indeed pro/academically or even street-trained and rely on this photographry business as your livelihood, then I can only tell, whatever your portfolio is like, you lack business courtesy and work ethics and your photos probably reflect this anyway, as they will lack soul. Photos are more than just snapshots, they are a reflection of your integrity (i.e. backbone if you still have one) and your personality.

So please spare a thought for yourself and those around you.

It's a free market, so WSHOOTER can shoot for a cup of coffee per hour if he wants. If he and his customers are happy, good for them.....
If pros find that times are bad, they would just have to review themselves and see how to improve their overall package, marketing strategy etc and not blame on people who charge lower. If hobbyist's standard is as good as pro, then something is really wrong with the industry....
All the best to you Wshooter.

Are you sure the wedding couples are laughing? If the photos turn out to be "..", then they probably be crying..

I think wedding events are just too important to screw up..

It's the same analogy as the lasik operation in singapore. Singapore health care is just pricing itself out ofthe regional market. And see what they are doing now? Review, and review, ..
