I've been reading up on macro but stull dun get it.
A true macro means that it is at least 1:1 magnification when the image is recorded on the film.
eg, a 1cent coin should cover the same area as seen on the film.
But dosen't a close up able to achieve the same thing? So whats the real difference between close up and macro?
Some digital cameras also do not have 'dedicated macro' function what does mean too? I am currently using canon S1 and i am still able to focus closely on something as close as 3 cm away. Unlike the canon V3, with the macro mode activated, you still need at least 10 cm away from the subject to focus.
