Default anyone owns a HP PSC?

Does anyone own a HP PSC 1315 or 1210 or 1350? They look about the same. I'm just wondering, I got mine a week ago, and it works ok. Only thing is, when the printer is 'taking' up paper, it seems to be making some noise. Is this normal? My previous HP deskjet was quiet as a lamb. Any advice?

I'm currently having acess to a HP PSC 1350 and has to agree that it is pretty noisy at the begining and the ending of a print cycle... lots of cranking, banging and god knows what. But Well, it produces pretty great prints for a all-in-one in this price range at maximum dpi settings with the optional photo cart, but, at this settings, it takes forever to print an A4 sheet...

But well, all in all, pretty nice printer, show but i have no problems with it as i'm seldomn in a rush, just load up the paper tray and sleep while it prints. Only complain is that the ink price is . But well, i don't have to worry about dead print heads tho as each cart comes with a fresh printhead, pros and cons. Until, i get my old canon behemoth of a printer up and running again that is...

Companies are constantly competing with each other. A lot of newer printers seem to pull and eject paper faster, as that can result in a HIGHER Pages Per Minute count, even at the cost of more noise. I've used the models your speaking of and others around it as well. Seems like normal operation to me.
I think it should pull slower when printing on Best quality with Premium plus paper, but regular or especially draft printing on normal paper will be noisy at paper pull/eject.

i suggest you bring it over to HP for check-up. who knows it might really be a faulty unit and hp will gladly replace it for you.

any idea where is hp located?

but I'm hesitant, if there is really nothing wrong, then what a waste of my time and effort bringing it down. u know what I mean? since there is nothing wrong with the printouts.

It's located at the Alexandra Distri Park. Opposite St. Andrew's Jr. College
You don't have to worry about paying for checkup though.
They check for you on the spot. You only have to pay when they take in for servicing or repairs. If you take it back there and then. no charge.

That's what happened when I brought my company's Laser printer down.

While you're there, enjoy the hot drinks and snacks. they even got ice-cream.

Default That sound is normal .....

Hiee....

Unless, there is a continuous sound of clicks or unusual paper feed, then it means that you have problems with it. Continuous paper jams or bad printing...

For this series.....due to the faster print mechanism feed hardware and accurate picking system......the first part of paper pick sound is normal.

I'm sure the 1350 series gives you superb photo quality prints.....one of the best for the pricepoint....

I've personally done prints that ppl mistook it for real photographic prints...

Ink wise, i would advice you to stick to originals for color consistency.

In case you really wanna go down to the service center.....and unsure of where the service center is.....i can show you where it is.....its very near my workplace...

rgds,
sulhan

Default Give HP a call if you want to save yourself the time and effort

I would suggest you simply give them a call to find out. You would then save yourself the trouble of taking it down. If there really is something wrong, you would know for sure and can then get it fixed.

You can call HP technical support at (information from HP's website):

6272 5300
Standard operating hours:
8.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday

Quick google search brings up the following link :

http://www.hp.com/country/sg/en/contact_us.html

All contact info is there, and they do work half day Saturdays. Maybe if you think that it could be a wasted trip, go to the HP demo center in Funan, and check out their other AIOs there ... see if they make the same noise. It could be a design "feature"

Good luck, hope you get it sorted out.

Question PSC1350 or other alternatives???

my dad recently brought back a 1350...i'm now wondering hows the total cost of ownership compared to canon's. if i m not mistaken, canon and epson seems to boast that they are the lowest in terms of TCO. i presume they meant ink costs and paper cost...not too sure what else they mean....
so now my dad offers me a choice: either get a replacement printer for the office and keep the 1350...
or
get another printer altogether and forget about the 1350...

the all in one seems very attractive but it all boils down to one big problem: total cost of ownership...
i m gonna kill myself if i need to fork out $60++ every month just for ink...
