35mm should be the best option... Just my opinion.

Taking group portraits is tougher than individual, cos need to consider multiple individuals posing, lighting etc. Can read up on group portrait techniques online.

Will suggest a 35mm and 50mm. Anything more than 50mm may be challenging for family groups. Plus you will need to shoot at smaller apertures prob f4 or 5.6 and above for group portraits.

Your camera comes with a kit lens. There's nothing wrong with using this lens for s beginning, but keep the focal length above 30mm setting.
I don't see the point that you go and get any prime or so. Obviously you need to learn the basics still - which means a certain lens will not help you. Focus on composition, exposure, arranging people. Take care about perspective distortions at the wider focal length settings, keep the camera vertical, don't tilt.

Just use your kit lens. Maximize the use of that, learn it's limitations and benefits.

50mm 1.8 is able to do it, if you think that 50mm is too tight you can try 35mm 1.8.

kit lens with 18-55 or 18-105 will cover all your photo needs... Nowadays the station is packed with public... hard for crowd control.. many strangers will be included in your photo taking..

Bro, you might want to avoid shooting at this angle in the future. The model in the picture looks totally distorted. huge feet, thick calves, small head... I am sure the model is a lot more attractive in real life.
