Dear All,
Just got an A1, but haven't got any filter for it yet. Any suggestion for this? Brand, model, and price? What are you using on your A1/A2? I never used filter on my Fujifilm 602Z before ('cause it's hard to put it on), but seems it's much easier to add a filter on A1/A2. Thanks in advance for your input. Cheers! |

The design of their filter is such that the mount holding the glass extends inwards, thus creating a smaller circle for the glass and increasing the chances of vignetting. You might need to get their slim series in some cases but they cost more. Otherwise, B+W filters are easier to clean, much better coated and they screw in more easily than Hoya IMO. Cheers! |

Care to share your feeling for your new A1?
How much did you pay? Compare to A2? |

Never had an A2, but did have tried it sometimes in store and at COMEX. Besides the EVF, I couldn't see any difference. For me, 5 mp is good enough and easier to handle RAW files (smaller I guess) too. I paid 1400 for the cam, an extra battery, a 1GB Sandisk UltraII CF card and a cam bag (probably only worth $10 I guess). More than my budget but I need to upgrade my CF card anyway. Cheers! |

using kenko UV as protection filter. althought it has very little of vignetting when in wide angle, it is still a must for mi to use it. i went for the firework festival with my friends. basically, all my friends (both digital and DSLR users) and my lens got a thin layer of salt / dirty on filter after come back from seaside. imagine how life would be if you go for such outing without a filter...
besides, i have "borrowed" 3 pieces of hoya 52mm +4 close up lens from my friend who has upgraded to DSLR. can shoot ants clearly~ thinking of buying tele, but piority is given to larger CF card -> flash (3600HS or others) -> tele lens. mi as a student, always out of cash, haha... |

Thanks for all the response.
Anyone using B+W MRC filter on your A1/A2? How's it? Got dark corners (vignette) too? Cheers! |

It doesn't occur in mid range or telephoto focal length shots unless you start to stack filters. Vignetting is not to be confused with light fall off, which has quite similar effect and happens in wide angle shots too. Light fall off has a more gradual shade of colours which gets darker closer to the corners. Cheers! |
