Default Do KM staffs visit this forum and should they?

Do any of the KM staffs visit this forum? I think they should assign someone from their PR dept or whatever to participate in this forum, since KM has always been so quiet other than sponsoring a traveling variety show on mediacorp channel 8 with Jaz Tay. Something like someone from TDK participating in the HWZ forums or EastGear over here as well. I believe through this channel, they can bring more KM users to participate and on the other hand, they know what their customers want.

(* I know this kind of topic belongs to Kopitiam but I think it is more relevant here.)

Agree! I think they feel its no point talking to CS folks becoz a majority of them are DSLR users are they do not have a DSLR to offer. But I do hope they can think about it once D7D is out.

The clubsnap folks will then be the correct group. But if they still stick to advertising Jaclyn Tay with small cameras and copier machines and ignore CS folks, I will surely jump ship coz with no exposure, they can never build up their DSLR market and so where's the support for lenses ? Not too mention if the biz continues to go "south", they might just wrap up their camera biz one day and we will be stuck with a whole range of lenses.

Oops, I meant as in official participation in the forum rather than anonymously. We won't know if they do really surf here, and through this channel there will be interaction and confidence.

I hope they visit and reflect our wish list into their products. But I doubt it.

It sometimes makes me think CS is sponsored by the camera shops in Singapore just to pull more people into the race of buying the latest and the greatest gear. Keep photography at the top of the "hottest hobbies in Singapore" eh?

Ahhhhh.......!

The brudders feel my pain.

Its ok. Don't mind being the devil's advocate when all us die-hard Minolta users only request, is to have a capable DSLR worthy of Minolta's unequalled lenses.

Not that I don't support Minolta (I am a fan) but, I think I have indicated, my and maybe some of the general concerns of other Minolta systems users. Stability of a system is defintely a general concern amongst new DSLR or existing SLR users. The reason why C & N's population is growing is also partly becoz of their system's stability and marketing efforts into the DSLR arena. Minolta has a fantastic system but too few people really knows very much about it. Minolta really needs to come out of its shell and show everyone what it can do...It may start by inviting, organizing or supporting some CS activities (I am not affliated with CS) to gain exposure and it should deliberately invite the C & N users to let them know the camera's capabilities.

No business can be viable if there are too few consumers for it and when the cost of maintaining a business unit exceeds profits, corners may be cut somewhere. When that happens, quality suffers. It may be unpleasant to read or hear but if we all continue to "stand by the bench" and not voice out, Minolta will not know..(no offence meant). I don't speak for everyone but I speak becoz I hate to see a good thing go down the drain.

I agreed!

Don't worry lah, I can see the new KM is more aggressive in marketing than the old M now. Just time is not there yet to pour in monies for marketing.

Let's review again in 3 months time..
