Thread: Aircon

    Default Aircon

Anyone can recommend a 'good' aircon brand?
    Inverter or not?
I'm planning to replace my faithful 15-year-old National 2-split.
    Budget $2k or less.

I'm not sure whether it's considered good but the fujitsu aircon in my house is still going strong after 10 years.

Daikin's pretty good. i've been using it for close to 15 years LOL...but if you want to save on electricity bills, buy Mitsubishi; Jack Neo swears by it

Sanyo +1. they specialise in keeping their compressors running for at least 20 years. Tech's taken from their biomedical range. think -152C deep freezers still running after 20 years.

Inverter is definitely a must if you want to save on util bill. Daikin is not bad... National Panasonic, forget it.

Get an inverter if most or all the units are turn on together regularly. It work most efficiently as such. Depending on your usage you may want to choose an inverter or a non- inverter. Check and compare the Energy Label. Do a bit of homework and see which one give you the best energy saving according to your needs. Check your existing ducting if it require any changing as well.
