hey all i just read that it is not advisable to point the lens of a digital camera at the sun cos it wld damage the CCD. just wondering, what about pointing it at a normal light source? cos i was putting the lens of my digicam directly under my table lamp to check it. is it alright to do that?

Aiyo, dun be overly paranoid la... if can't put under table lamp to look, then you'd better not shoot outdoors in the daytime
As for pointing the lens at the sun, I think the caution is for the person behind the camera, and not so much the lens itself. A series of lenses focusing sunlight into your eyes can and will burn out your retinas pretty quick |
