    I have tried to bring down the brightness using x4 ND filter. Guess thats where my limitation are.

    ND does not bring down the brightness. Exposure remains the same, as the camera will compensate. You just have the ability to use a longer exposure, that's all.

    For your case, 1/2 to 1 stop less exposure should fix it.

    I cant... in manual mode of the A40, i cannot bring down the brightness, only in P mode.

    Will re-visit the place and get a better picture next time.

    Personally think that these 3 pictures wasnt good enough, limitation of skills and lack of understanding of the subject and its surrounding area is what made me feel it wasnt good.

    Just bring down the shutter speed.
