Default Showroom staff with no product knowledge - as usual

Yawn...so what else is new? Showroom staff who do not know what they are selling.

Went to one of the Sony showrooms and asked about Sony Cybershot DSC-HX7V.
    It has built-in GPS.

Staff said must set clock date/time properly otherwise the GPS will not be written correctly.
Cameras with built-in GPS can write the GPS latitude and longitude information directly into the photo's EXIF.

What the staff was explaining was Geo-tagging which anyone can use with a separate GPS data logger of various brands.
He has zero product knowledge. Did not point out that he was wrong - just kept quiet and left the showroom.

Bro frankly speaking wat u did, do nobody any good. By telling him off u probably make him realise that he know nuts about his product and he should do something about it rather then to smoke u. But now, he probably think since he manage to smoke u, he can do that to the next customer who ask him. So it will be a chain effect. He wont even bother to actually learn what he doesnt know. U come here and open tis thread, doesnt help anyone. It just a complaint without any solution. We all know this happen out there and he wont be one of the readers.
I believe telling him off wud be better for us consumers in the long run. Start small ...

so maybe you could explain the exact difference to us who are not that tech savvy and what's the exact difference between geo-tagging and GPS?

what else is new? staff who have no idea what they're selling? it's old news. so why pick a brand? you can practically pick ANY store and they won't even give accurate info so-to-speak. just another whiner? i know you're a senior member, but don't turn this issue into another Stomp! where there's only words and no action

    Nope.
If the company does not train its staff, don't expect consumers to do so.
Want to know? bother to do some Goggling.
Better still do some geotagging with a data logger.
No particular brand. Just that for veracity, this actually happened for this brand. So it is real. Not fiction.

yup i just read up on it. like what AdyH mentioned... this helps no one complaining here. this is just like Stomp, where images are posted, people complaining about something... and nothing was done to actually rectify the issue rather than just make noise about it.
