Ok...this is the 1st time I see some complaint about lens too sharps. Use photoshop to settle the problem. : )

Haha why not? Sometimes I use my 100mm macro to shoot in studio, the model also complain why can see so many flaws so clearly. It's because the lens is too sharp

For people lack of Photoshop skills, there are software that can help. e.g. Portrait Professional
    Canon 5D Mark II | 24-105L | 35L | 85L II | 135L | Samyang 14mm 2.8

sell off the lens, use some lousy lens XD (e.g 100mm f2.8 soft-focus)

alternatively, you may use MF instead.. less sharpness. if PS is too complicated for you

I must say I’m so used to hearing “THE LENS IS SOFT OMG I’M GONNA DIE”, that “the lens is too sharp” comes off as so queer.

Hmm but isn't it more queer to say that u wanna die just cause of a lens softness or sharpness? Haa

That was hyperbole/exaggeration. It’s remarkable how many people you see complain that they bought a lens and it’s soft. And then the post on forums and whine about it as if its the end of the world and they are really “gonna die”. I just shortened the whole concept for brevity’s sake.

You don't want to get a softer lens. You still want the eyes to be tack sharp. Use it with big aperture, then use retouch to remove pimples, moles, stray hair, and other imperfections, and soft focus to smooth out the skin.
