Whats a good battery for the SB-800 right now? Sanyo 2300mAh (heard there's a 2400mAh now?) or GP? Think GP has a 2450, or was it 2350 mAh? Which brand is good ah?
![]() How about chargers? Do the included charges also allow discharging/topping off of the batteries, and how long usually for a complete charge? Last edited by Gymrat76; 19th August 2004 at 11:06 PM. |

If you're going to use the flash occasionally (ie you're not going to shoot events often etc) probably best to use alkalines.
For rechargeables - GP batteries are generally much more expensive then the Sanyo ones (usually I've seen like 2 GP batteries going for the same price as 4 Sanyos) with the same mAh ratings, with not much longer performance. So I'd probably stick with Sanyos. For chargers , the Sanyo super quick chargers are pretty good - bonus is you get 4 Sanyo 2300mAh batteries with them. An arguably better charger is the Maha Powerex MH-C401FS, a little bit more expensive than the Sanyo (and without any batteries), but it's got not only the super quick charge, but also the option of a cooler long charge for when you don't need to charge so quickly. Cool charging batteries provide for longer battery life. Hope that helps... |

i am using sony....bcos i bought it long ago at 2100mAH. think sony and sanyo about the same performance.
1 pack can last for around one morning of wedding shhots, i usu. bring 4 pack for the entire day of wedding shots.

I use GP over Sanyo, each has its own merits. GP will retain its charge longer but Sanyo is more lasting when newly charged. If you like to charge and leave it than go for GP but if you normally charge and used it right away go for Sanyo.
