Default Sell or keep 300D?

Hi,

Because I have upgraded my camera, I was wondering if I should keep my 300D as a backup to my 1D MKII. I've seen on the B&S section that the prices of the 300D's are low now so I guess I should keep it? I'm in a slight problem here with money (Though not critical actually) but I'm wanting to keep a secondary camera as backup. Anybody have an opnion here?

Cheers,
Nick

Well, if you are thinking of selling it, you should do so soon. Cos DSLR's prices drops very quicly. Especially since the 20D will be coming out. Well, my opinion is, unless you really need the money, i think you could keep the 300D... ... ...

I say sell. After using the mark II, you're going to find the 300D sorely inadequate... I'm already feeling that way of my 10D but won't get rid of it because I can't afford another mark II as a 2nd body.

Used prices of the 300D and 10D are going to drop real quick once the 20D comes on the market next month too.

Y sell? Keep it as backup since the selling price of 300d is pathetic

Keep 300D as backup and buy 20D for main purpose.

My suggestion is sell.
Cos you will never use 300D for backup when you are hook with your 1D.
Get a A60 or A70 or A75 or A80 as backup would be more suitable as it can be use for normal occassion.

Or sell the 300D and get a 10D as backup? I'd probably get to save some money? Or no?

Or how about a better idea? You can sponsor me with the 20D!

How I wish I'm in a position to do that.

But honestly, I do find the ETTL II to be great. And having a backup camera with this function for me is not ideal. But then again, you may not be doing a lot of flash photography.

The 300D is a great camera and made greater with more EF-S lenses.

Cheers,

Unless you are a pro, I don't think you will use a backup cam so often. No need to buy 2nd hand 10D as backup. Keep your 300D or pass it to your dad to play.

For me, i keep a normal zoom or a wide zoom on for group shots. As for the other cam, i usually put a telezoom...
