Lightbulb D2H Max enlargment size?

Hi to all D2H users.

Care to share what's the maximum size you all have ever printed when shoot in Jpg or NEF format? When come to A0 to A2 size printing, with a 4.1 effective megapixels, just wonder how good is the quality as compare to D100 or D70 which is a 6.1 effective megapixels.

I heard higher effective megapixels dont really count when come to enlargment printing & quality. It is the whether how good the imaging sensor or CCD that count when come to image reproduction. eg. highlight & shadow details, noise ect. Care to share how truth is this? Note: Not comparing DSLR to those P&S which have 8.1 effective megapixels. WE compare DSLR to DSLR with 4.1 to 8.1 megapixels.

Printed and sold 100cm by 150cm several times. Properly exposed, and correctly up-rezzed. These were gallery prints sold to Tourism boards of various countries and a few to an ambassador of one country.

It was shot in NEF... but by the time I passed it to the ad agency, it was saved in JPG... of course you don't go close to it to look at details... it is hanging on a shophouse.

You need to determine at that enlargement, does it suit the application of how the print will be used? A1 or A0 sizes are not a problem if the image is meant to be viewed a few feet or a fair distance away. If fine detail needs to be rendered properly, then chances are, it won't cut it.

The paper used to print your image also plays a large part.

For big prints like 12Rs and above, one don't use close scrutinization.

Just step back at least 0.6m and enjoy.

Actually there are. Example : Jewellery posters and ad banners set up outside shops. People want to look closely to check out the details. Stepping back, you can see the form but not the intricate details of the pendant or whatever.
