Nikon has launched its latest amateur-oriented camera, the D5100. The new digital SLR, an upgrade of the D5000, incorporates a 16.08 million image pixel DX-size sensor, 4fps burst rate, ISO range of 100-6400 (plus 12,800 and 25,600), 11-area autofocus, in-camera HDR, 1080p/30fps video with continuous AF and the option of connecting an external stereo mic. The D5100 retains the tilt/swivel screen of its predecessor, but it's now hinged on the side rather than the bottom of the camera.
