Anyone has tried mounting a minolta SLR on the 150 mm Newtonian 1000 mm f7 telescope?
I need a shot of a full moon, preferably covering half of the frame. I think I need a T-adapter and T-Ring but is a motordrive for the telescope necessary for long exposures of the moon. But what combinations? Alternatively If anyone has a clear shot of the moon on a 40mb single file tiff or jpeg format, please contact me. cheers |

too bad mine is not full moon
but for moon, u dun need long exposure....even at ISO100, the shutter speed can be as high as 1/60

do you need motor drive? Because the moon is moving very quickly, i am not too sure whether it will work if i just mount and shoot without the motor.
Do you have some clear shots to share? post here. (Cannot see the pics on the threads.) thanx |

why u need motordrive when the shutter speed is 1/60? even handheld will do
i dun shoot full moon because it is so bright that no details can be seen ![]() It was a stitch of 4 pix because I can't zoom out with a fixed lens |

Thanks Wai, Will try next week, when blurblock loan me the T-adapter and Deluxe extender. My lens are F8 1000mm but through the Plossl 20mm and the 2x Barlow lens , it may be dim. Your fixed lens I assume is F2.8 right?
Some reading told me to look at a tracking motor for the lens. Worse come worse, I copy using slide from a book and scan it using my film scanner, see whether I can achieve 3200dpi. hahah cheers |

Just as I told you
...... hehehehe ... if it is for one off thing .... don't bother to invest in it ...... When can I have the things back, these few days the sky is pretty good .... may want to take some stars or planets . |

Saturday? you free? I was thinking of bring my camera along, so you can give me some pointers. No theme in mind yet but have some campaigns coming up. I always have "commercial value" on top of my mind. I will share with you personally when we meet.
