50mm f/1.8 D + FT?

Anyone knows whether can the nikkor 50mm f/1.8 D lens fit and work in a Nikormat FT?

All Nikon AF lens (with the exception of the G lensesl, I think) are also AIS lenses. If the Nikormat can also take AIS lenses, it wouldn't be a problem.
