    Remorseful soldier counselled: Mindef
THE Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has completed its investigation into the recent case of a serviceman who was photographed with his domestic helper carrying his field pack ('Deafening silence in army backpack saga' by Mr Patrick Tan; last Saturday).

The serviceman concerned has identified himself to his commander.

He was a recruit undergoing the Physical Training Preparatory phase prior to the Basic Military Training phase.

The recruit is remorseful for his actions and realises that it was wrong for him to have allowed this.

He has been counselled and continues his training. The SAF has reminded all servicemen to be mindful of their conduct in public.

That means not in public can have this kind of conduct? At home can get maid to do everything for him?

All these things should be from within the soldier themselves.

Send this idiot to Fukushima No. 3 nuclear reactor core.
In the newspapers it was reported that his parents were angry that the public reacted this way.
This means they felt there was nothing wrong with them telling the maid to carry their son's back pack.
This is one thoroughly spoilt brat.

there was this moron on yahoo news who commented that "as i am an airforce regular doing his thesis for university, my maid carries my fieldpack while i have a video conference to discuss my thesis with my project group"

i replied to him saying "so your maid carries your fieldpack while you're sitting at your notebook chatting with friends. that's maid abuse"

but the point is, if an army regular can say that... what more will an NSF do it?

unless he's the only chow recuirt in that area of tanah merah..

    there's hope for him yet.

you talking about the "air force" guy or me being a troll? sorry a little sensitive here.

because i've seen army regulars like that. have you?

anyways, it's called trying to save face. the SAF employed that line to show the world at least the recruit has integrity... if you buy it.

We have to give credit to the soldier in question also. He is brave enough to admit his mistakes to his commanders. Good on you soldier. Make sure you be a man from today onwards and move on.

for someone to have tarnished the SAF's reputation so much... and caused a sensation around the world... just an apology will suffice? i doubt it's that simple. the SAF doesn't work this way.

the only reason why they're giving this explanation is to close this case quietly.

Yes, such is the power of 1 photo.

Just 1 photo has blown away all the MINDEF cool adverts.
