Going back to OLD minoltas days

HI,

Just brought a minolta 8000i. What attacts me is that its WHITE in color.

1) HOW good is it?

2)Anyone has one? pls tell me something about tis body, txs.

3)Its made in 1990, thats all i know.

4)Thanks for any information given.

It's a special edition item, made to celebrate the 1990 space trip where a custom-made white 8000i was used by a Japanese journalist. Around 20000 were made, reportedly. It was delivered with a white 35-105 zoom and a white 5200i flash. The 8000i (the only difference to the normal model is the colour) is otherwise a nice camera; main letdowns are the lack of DOF preview and a vertical grip. The display, tilted towards the user, makes for one of the nicer Minolta UI details, in my opinion. The model can suffer from LCD bleed in the viewfinder. Can't come to think of anything else right now -- I owned one (normal bronze model) until I sold it to a female friend (who still uses it and makes great photos with it).

Just wondering now, how much value will it cost? but i am not gona sell anyway. too cute looking for me. Will look better if it is with a white lens . but no money to buy one ha ha!

Have white lens, but no more money left to buy white camera body.
