first thing is to check your white balance, make sure it is set correctly. the other is to check your monitor calibration. what may in fact be purple could appear blue on your screen.

which will be the right white balance to set then? I was at auto initially but set to daylight, still the same outcome. The purple flower I took at macro turned out to be blue even at the A80 display.

    hm ok
just try out with some purple colour stuff (post some sample here later)
ya there seem to be a problem with the auto white balance
so i do a custom WB setting
you notice that there is a few WB setting option right
    go to the custom setting
now get a plain white paper
put it in front of the lens (not too close) so that you see your screen is all white (may not be that "white" if there is problem with the auto WB setting in some condition)
    press "set"
ok now you should see it is a "white" screen

then take photo with this setting

    hope you understand me ....

Thank you for the guidance, I did tried out the method you taught. The effect is still the same. Purple objects turned out to be blue. Will post a picture of a purple cover book in a minute.

PS can only correct the WB properly if you shot in RAW. If JPEG the metadata (e.g. WB setting) already written into the image so cannot be changed "properly".

Vivid setting was off.. I had put a piece of white paper and even white T-shirt infront of the camera to customised the white balance. The overall colour turns out to be better but the purple still turns out to be blue.

Yeap.. full manual setting. But i think the only way to get all proper exposure will be when the sun light is on top of me. So there won't be any direction that have more sunlight than others :P

Anyway... using photoshop to adjust is not that hard lah ^_^

still problematic because of the the scenery and sky would present different overall brightness. I think in PS there is a function to set the same colour balance or curves or something across a series of pictures so they look more "balanced".
