Gitzo vs Velbon CF tripod

Hi Guys,

Wondering if the Gitzo one is under-rated. For eg, 1228 MKII is only rated for 8kg but the Velbon one is 20kg? Man, thats a big diff.

Anyone has any idea why the big diff?

Look at Velbon's specifications:

The load figures are expressed in terms of "suggested" and "max".
