Default Pics from Jelutong Tower shoot (7th Aug'04)

Hi,

Thanks for joining me today, ccplim, jbma and szekiat. Really enjoyed your company. Sure beats going up there alone like I usually do.

Here are 2 of my pictures that have passed so far :

Juvenile Banded Woodpecker
D70 + 480mm ED scope (effective 720mm @ f/6.8). Jelutong Tower.

Brown Throated Sunbird ?
D70 + 70-300G, taken along the path back to the trail entrance.

Hope you guys had a better : ratio.

Looking forward to see szekiat's Bee Eaters !

Thanks.

Ah, you should have waited a bit longer. We were still outside, near the little hut at that time. I did try to call you just before we made our way in, but the call was diverted to your voicemail.

Anyway, did you manage to see anything while you were there ? I heard the Adult Male Banded Woodpecker was sighted around that time by some of the other early guys.

Hope to see you on a future visit then

(Thinking of going again on Sunday afternoon )

Hi,

Thanks for your comments.

I'm eagerly waiting for my 3 shooting partners to post their results here too. They were better equipped than I , and I'm sure they have some really beautiful shots to share

Aiyah, I'm sure proper camera lenses + flash will give you better results. The woodpecker shot above was the only one that made it out of my scope + camera combination

I wanna see how the Sigma 50-500 performs for long range shots 'coz that is one of the lenses on my " upgrade from 70-300G to ??? " list.

Quite a few of my shots were actually ruined by my inexperience in using the flash extender

I feel like crying when I open up my pictures. Some of them were nice but the eyes were ruined by the flash
