Default IE 9 not for XP users

    Bad mistake.
67% of office systems still on XP. Many home users still use XP.
Don't alienate your loyal customers. Forcing them to go to FF4 and other browsers?

Microsoft always force us to upgrade this upgrade that..

i remember many years ago when i install service pack for customer... service pack cannot be installed without upgrading IE... wtf!

i still prefer open source... as they are not so overly concerned with themselves... they are develop by people for people...

XP is still the best....Vista or 7 simply can't provide enought justification for user to switch......now MS is closing the tap to force users to give up

I upgrade my XP to Win 7 and I can see so much different interm 3D game rendering.. I played same game Winning Eleven using XP, and Win 7. I can say my Win 7 is much much better than my XP previously.. same machine different OS

You only see the "iexplore.exe" SKIN that MS shows. Actually there is a LOT more that's loaded in the background that MS does not show you. Internet Explorer is basically just a skin on top of Windows Explorer.

Unhappy Re: IE 9 not for XP users

Too bad then, you don't know what you are missing with IE9.

Hardware-accelerated WebGL in IE9 completely trashes Mozilla's Firefox in performance alone. and we are looking at speeds like 10x faster.

my company intranet must use IE. i use it to submit claim, clock omeaga, sharepoint and etc..

other than that, 90% of the time i am using Firefox.

But I don't play games on the PC. Many paid as well as free XP software may not run on W7.

The game rendering doesn't use the OS, but the graphics card you are using. It also depends on your video ram. Unless you are doing 3D renders (not games but animation, vfx etc), using the 64bit win7 OS definitely boosts the render time.
