Default Sad News: Woman, 37, falls from cliff while taking photographs

I was so shocked and saddened when my sister called me last Sunday afternoon and told me that my cousin, Lina, has passed away. I was told that she fell off a cliff while she was hunting for sunset pictures at Gooseberry Hill, Perth, Australia.

I was told that the view from the hill is amazing. Beautiful Perth skyline can be seen. She went up to the hill alone to take photographs on that Saturday afternoon. Nigel, her husband, was already at home and when he was going to sleep at 11pm, Lina has not come back home. He thought that she maybe going out party with her friends and maybe coming back after midnight. Previously, Nigel and Lina had already planned to bring their dogs out for Sunday morning jogging at King's Park. However, when he woke up at 7am, Lina was not in the room. He became confused and worried. So he called one of Lina's best friends, Celly, to ask her whereabout. Celly did not know where Lina was and the last time Celly talked to her was 2 days ago. So Nigel became more worried and ask the police for any traffic accident, but there was none. Then about 1pm, Nigel received a call informing him that his wife's body was found at the bottom of a cliff around the Gooseberry Hill area at 9am. The cliff was around 20-30 meter in height.

This a very sad and tragic accident. I hope that Lina's husband, my uncle and auntie can take this very sad news with their strong heart. Hope they are doing well.

For all photographers and non-photographers out there, when you are taking photographs or any other things you do, PLEASE BECAREFUL. Appreciate every moment with your family and friends. Give them happiness. Show your love: miss them, tell them you love them, hug them, kiss them or any other ways that work. Life may be short.

    My condolences.

But as there were no witnesses, one cannot be 100% sure what actually happened or if there was foul play even.

    It is tragic indeed .....

    Condolences.

It is important that safety comes first before anything else. I have placed myself in situations where the outcome could have been potentially disastrous; I am often thankful that nothing bad really happened.

Yes, safety always come first, rather to miss the shot than anything else.

Thank you all for your condolences and kind support...

I still remember that she once asked me a 1-2 years ago for advice for which DSLR camera she should buy.. in the end she bought a nikon d300s.. since then, her passion in photography grew so strong.. she would post beautiful photos in facebook every few days.. but it kinda stop now... it feels kinda weird..

She was very cheerful.. . She constantly smiles and laugh.. I never saw her down before... She spent a very happy life.. but it's just too short.. Hope that she is even happier where ever she is now...
