We do not know your style of shooting, so a bit hard to advise. Note that whatever people recommend, it's usually recommended according to their own shooting style, not yours. In reality, only you will know how you shoot (e.g. what focal lengths you like to use, and if you prefer zooms or primes), so only you will know the lenses you need.

    16-35 f2.8L
    24-70 f2.8L
    85 f1.8 USM
    70-200 f2.8 IS II
    580 EXII

Tripod: depends on budget, if on budget get something from Sirui, not on budget (or very large budget) then Gitzo

Bag: depends on what you like, don't just ask around what people use, try out the bags yourself and see if they suit you

Dry cabinet: how large depends on how much equipment you get.

I saw one of your comments about the "lens range", if $500 is your budget for lenses, you might want to look at a crop frame body to extend your budget for lenses (even this won't get you anywhere if you think lenses are that cheap)

A setup I might use if I was on a Canon crop system and had money to buy:
    -Canon 60D/7D
    -Canon 17-55 IS USM
    -Canon 10-22
-(maybe) Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS II
    -Canon 580 EX II

For Taiwan, take the kit lens and that's it. Enjoy shooting. Once you come back maybe you want to get a dry cabinet. That's it for the moment. ore important: you want to acquire knowledge, skills and experience. This will keep you busy for a while, distracting from buying unnecessary equipment - On the other end, once you have enough knowledge a lot of "what to buy" questions get resolved or become irrelevant.
