    Default Weekend Car Cheats beware

"A MAN was fined $130,000 in what was believed to be one of the biggest fines levied against an off-peak car offender, a Straits Times report said."

Serve him right. Very unfair to those who paid for the weekend car coupons!

Can afford to pay for a car but cannot afford to buy a $20 coupon!

I think he's just using this as an excuse to avoid the fine/jail terms. Very cunning indeed.

But the judge said that "the timing and location of several violations indicated "some degree of regularity". "It can be inferred that these trips were not made by someone who was driving aimlessly…"

Essentially he was tracked, probably by ERP gantries or LTA cameras

They implemented this paperless coupon system, so I'm sure they have a way to track if one purchase a coupon online or not before/after the weekend car has been used during restricted hours.

I think this system is very convenient, such that drivers don't have to display paper coupons and get stopped by the authorities half way beside the road just for the inspection of these paper coupons. However, more and more drivers are making use of this 'convenience' for their own 'personal gains'.
