Where's the best location to take the moon in Singapore?

Need a very dark place but I think Singapore is too bright.

why do you need a very dark place to take? i took before at the side of my hdb flat and side of open space carpark before :P

the moon is bright, so using a fast shutter(1/300) n small aperture(f11-13), should be quite ok...

but well, i am not pro in this

You don't need a very dark place to shoot the moon. I shot from my kitchen window. I live on the highest floor of my apartment block.. So I didn't get any stray light coming in from the side. So perhaps you would want to get up high in order to shoot. Oh yes.. I turned off the kitchen lights..

Quick question. Do I need a very good lense to take photo of the moon? Haha. Pretty lame question but then again. I'm really new to all this. Thanks in advance.

It depends on how much details you wish to resolve from the moon to be deemed satisfactory. You may try your telephoto at its 250mm end first, and go for higher focal length / better glasses to resolve more details. Others would also mount their camera bodies onto telescopes (>1000mm)

What I did was went up to some 16 floor flat, used 400mm lens and shoot, I still need to crop my image to 40% to get a tight pic of the moon.

So what you can do is use all the techniques for night shoot at 200mm end and crop.

Actually for moon can always shoot anywhere. Even at HDB flat or in your house....

Just need to adjust the exposure compensation (lower) so that the details on moon are clearer.

Took this yesterday but i din adjust the exposure

i use Aperture Priority, f8 ISO 800, and the 500mm reflex lens. using Spot Metering to meter on the moon itself so i don't have to worry about shutter speed

don't need to think about it too much. just shoot

More importantly is whether there are high clouds. usually if you see many stars that is a good time.
