the papers are a good source for job openings!
as you go along, you *might* get other jobs through word of mouth from friends and colleagues. when you are freelancing especially, it's a lot of hard work finding the next job  |

From time to time i need assistants for studio work. It could be commercial, editorial, bridal or even test.
I also do bridal studio and outdoor. Esp for the outdoor part i hope to find someone whom i can work with and good at road navigation (very impt cos i am very bad with directions hahaha). Please do drop me a line at the_gestapo@yahoo.com and i will give you a call whenever i need assistants. Sometimes it is paid sometimes if for test, then you will have to sacrifice pay for learning more. Thanks! |

welcome zig!
don't know where to start to give you advice, but i can safely say, assisting is *ALOT* of hard work. be prepared! it doesn't matter who you work for, or how "good" or "bad" the photographer is....keep an open mind and treat everything, good and bad, as lessons you can learn from. that way, life would be more meaningful as an assistant sometimes, you just feel like sh*t haha!will be good if you can get your own jobs, shooting weddings or PR events.... this way, you can build up your own portfolio, learn how to interact with your own clients, and earn cash, of course. some studios don't shoot such events, so they sub the jobs out. one more thing, but just as important, give yourself credit and don't accept jobs which you think is seriously underpaid for your standards. |

hi all,
i quit my last job 2 yrs and jump into photography out of passion. till now still looking lobang to be a PA to any photographer. I've done my own event and wedding but feel that i need to learn from the true pros. anybody out willing to give a guy some exposure on how to be a PA will be much appreciated. |
