Yes the picture quality of canon is so super awesome good that even Avril Lavigne and Ken Watanabe used it, that's why she stop making new albums and he stop acting because now with canon dslr, they have become professional photographers earning millions. No need to buy expensive lens also because canon is so good you can use the kit lens and its more than enough to give you a "dslr effect like picture" for camwhore and when people see your picture anywhere, people 200% guarantee will know its taken with a canon dslr. Then if you bored already and need an accessory to wear on your neck when going places, you can hang canon dslr like Mr T gold chain and look super cool like Avril Lavigne. Don't worry about in body image stabiliser and all these nonsense because if its good, canon will have it first already as they will want to be delighting you always.
I think your post is more entertaining.

Okay chill people. Why the canon vs Sony war here? Lol!
I have taken into consideration about what the fellow CSers have suggested and still prefer a canon Dslr. At the same time, I'm not eliminating Sony. I'd still check them out in stores first and see which I feel has a nicer grip and "feel".
Anyway, thanks to all who have given me suggestions & pointers. ^^

While looking into the fact that you lack technical knowledge, lighter choice and ability to cam-whore with the capability of a DSLR APS-C (Canon 450D sensor are actually slightly smaller than Nex, bigger sensor is a good thing), it is obvious in every way that a Nex is a better choice. I cannot psycho you to die die get a Nex, I just feel bad when people makes poor choices due to persuasion from friends and salesman lacking in knowledge or marketing and get a choice that they regretted not heard others who are more experienced.

Seriously I don't know what I am doing except typing what I am thinking when reading your thread.
Yea I knowwwwwww. That's what every single one who talked about Nex told me too. I get it. I said I prefer a canon Dslr, but it doesn't mean that I don't like the nex! Lol, I keep repeating this but I'm gonna say it again: I'm gonna go check both out in the stores first before buying any. I understand that NEX itself is a good cam as well.

    Thanks though.

    this is the best advice.

TS, if you like canon so much, don't compare anymore; with this thread you're dragging all members into this fray which you've started.

you've asked our advice, ding-donged all over different brand recommendations and now... decided in your undecided-ness to purchase a canon (or *tee hee hee!* perhaps maybe you'll tease the members into thinking you'll consider the NEX too so they'll continue this debate on equipment...)

before your thread becomes a brand-war/flame thread, do us a favor: lock up this thread and buy the Canon 60D or 550D.

    my 2 cents.

You already said "prefer". Why not just get THE DSLR!! 1000D is light and small. easy for small hands.

The more you drag, the more this thread will become like this. http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=846401

You still haven't reply with my question about why die die with the canon camera? Because I am very curious about why is so good about that system? You have lobang to get it at ultra cheap pricing or just purely psycho by marketing and peers?

I guess no point pursuing this 'witchhunt'. TS has obviously made up her mind about getting a Canon DSLR. From the initial post until now, she has also changed her mind abt getting 2nd hand camera. Initially said ok, then now says she prefers new due to warranty.

    oh well.

TS, I think it is safe to assume the first DSLR you buy won't be the last. Don't fret too much about it. Buy something and start shooting to learn and improve. Maybe then you'll have a clearer idea what you want to get for your next 'upgrade'.
