Just chance upon this thread and I saw your both pic. Whatever some may say it didn't make any sense out of this pp, but I'd venture to say your skill and conceived idea went beyond your age. Keep up the good works and I really like your second pic in #145. Was that taken in S'pore? In fact personally I felt your #145 is the best in this thread thus far in accordance with the title. I knew alot of work has been put into it. Well done and keep it up.

Sorry, I know this is going to sound pretty ordinary... but how do I upload pictures from my computer. I've tried using the "image" button and uploaded the photo but it doesn't seem to make it's way to the thread.

the "after"/final shot was from 2 photos from a cam mounted on a tripod.
1 shot taken earlier with the correct exposure of the sky and background.
the second shot was taken during the fireworks display.

only the fireworks were added on the original photo taken earlier using selective selection via color range with the fuzziness at around 100 to 180 depending on the photo and the amount of smoke you are willing to bring into the final shot.
There is an easier way to do it. 'select all' and copy the fireworks photo, paste it on the one with the correctly exposed background, and select 'Lighten' in the layer properties. Done!

U can then erase any stray fireworks or smoke using the eraser tool on that layer.

Hi Sir, thanks... and I think I put in a lot of work for this kind of photo i want to present. PP in PS is not a problem for me and I started to learn PS when I was 10 actually. So now I am trying to learn more on composition and many more other things. #145 is at East Coast and if I remember, is around burger king area. Quite a lot of people fishing there...
Thanks so much for your encouragement...

Thanks, it's done HDR using photomatrix pro. Those living in Melbourne may have seen it before - St Paul's Cathedral next to Flinders St Station

there are a few of these floating around reservoirs, some are reachable easily with short lenses, saves you some cropping and hopefully helps with retaining detail. the one i saw at mc ritchie has antenna

    4. add torn border & crumpled effect, I used a scanned old torn envelope (you can download online), play with blending mode; overlay or multiply

    Thanks for the tip.

Before (sorry for the low image quality cos this photo hosted on facebook)

    After

    1. Did some basic enhancement (sharpening, improve clarity and contrast)
    2. Converted to vintage colors, add noise, add vignetting
