It can be done by applying the basics and knowing when to bend the 'rules' to suit your artistic intent
    All the best!

    * I still think that learning effective post-processing skills (eg. Photoshop, Lightroom, etc) would benefit you greatly. Probably no need to really be a master at it, but just learning some of the basic functions will be sufficient.
Thanks for your advice, will start exploring Photoshop once I'm used to my camera.

Tried playing with the settings yesterday.

I set the contrast and saturation to -2 and selected the Flat mode instead of i-Enhance mode but the photo taken still look different from the filter effect that I seen on the internet haha...

Guess only Photoshop can produce such effect already.

Its not easy to get in photoshop what you can get from the camera according to what I heard at the presentation some time back, because of the way it processes the image

your cam is telling you "Don't be lazy!"

I do think that the "art-filters" look can be too cliched though. Nice to use for a few photos or a set/series, but not always.

Ha ha, I agree that too much of the filters effects are too cliched but a few pictures taken with the effect look nice though. I have seen a few Japanese magazines that took pictures on food or old streets using the effect and the photos really look nice!

I always thought it was due to exposure or photoshop effect until one of the magazines intro E-P2 and the art filters then I realised how it was achieved haha....

Already bought E-PL2 by the time I knew it so hence wanted to know if there are other means to do so.

I don't think it is possible to "hack" or jailbreak the firmware to make the art filters available on E-PL2 right?

    I can't answer that question
Maybe you can try posting in the m-4/3 subforum?
