Default Downsizing of 10mb file to 10kb file

    Dear Clubsnappers,

I just bought Photoshop 8. This is the first time using it and would like to know if anyone knows how to downsize the photo from a 10mb file to smaller size files like 10kb files.

    Kindly advise.

    Thank you in advance.

the only way to do that is to reduce the image size to very small... 10kb would be like an avatar size... so roughly about 150 x 150 or smaller, den set compression high & set to quality low for jpeg

set your image size settings to "72 dpi" also
when you save as "jpg", Photoshop will prompt you for a compression ratio. eg. medium, best, etc.

if not, the industrial way is to set your res @ 300dpi but your document dimensions to be say 50 x 50 pix. This way you still can do slight enlargements (provided it's not TOO small) Experiment till you get the file size required.
