The initial lens offering for the F camera in 1959 was a 5cm f2 S. I found my mint copy on an old FTN body I think it was that was also mint. They wanted like $70 I told old dude I was not a film guy and only interested in the lens. He said how much? I said $10. They go for around a buck fifty on the bay now. I should have bought the whole shooting match but at the time my film cameras were collecting dust. Foolish move on my part in retrospect. The Df collects more dust bunnies than any camera I have ever owned.

A few more from the 50/2 S in poor light on my lunch hour today. I did the best I could with what I had today but I think I will come back later during better conditions. It may be very difficult to get anything out of this neighborhood though because of all the massive trees. Many are 60 years old. The neighborhood is fascinating to me as it is mid century modern. I'm into mid century modern furniture. More details are at www.lortondale.com The Lorton family owned newspapers well I guess they still do. Filthy rich folks these Lortons are but decent people who have given a lot more to the community than most.

This one made in a pinch with the 100/2.8 E. I thought they might start manhandling him so I stood by with camera. The supervising cop spotted me right away. I did not flinch one bit when he pointed me out to his buddies. American cops are sometimes sort of touchy when you start photographing them. As the lock keeps a honest man honest the camera keeps a honest cop honest!

Uncle was walking up the hill. He stopped and kick backed for a moment and some do gooder called 911. Three squad cars, one ambulance, and one firetruck later they discover the old man was just resting for a minute. Geezuz.

I'm liking the 28/2.8 stuff Junwei!

Have you ever tried close up with it? That Nikkor will focus up close and personal and razor sharp. Someday I may pick one up to serve as a close up shooter.

Had the 28/3.5K out today which is a nice lens for little money. I use it as a daylight shooter. Haven't tried the night.

The single lens that holds me firmly in the Nikon camp. This snap is one example why. There are a few lenses that will present a 3D pop if the conditions are right. Today during my walk around the farm such a situation presented itself to me and I nailed it. So here you go...the legendary 105/2.5 (K version)! Not bad for a moving target coming at you fast with a manual focus lens wide open and I did not machine gun it either I set a simple focus trap!

Una mas...28/3.5K...an extremely special car. 426 Hemi bored and stroked to 488ci. Dual throttle body fuel injection close to around 650 ponies so they say...sounded more like 800 to me. Car is an early 60's Sport Fury Vert. Rig in the background is pretty cool too.
