Default wat's the diff?

sorry ah... damn newbie at this... but wat is the diff between a mirco drive and a normal cf card?

Well...a micro drive...as the term mentioned is actually a very small version of our hard disk drives...ie...they have tiny moving parts within the card itself...therefore it is prone to being damaged pretty easily via vibrational shocks (ie...drop on floor)...

CF cards are solid state memories that requires no moving parts to access...in side the cards are flash memories that store the info...ie...they are more resistents to knocks and rough handlings....

ok then if that's the case.. which brand of memory cards to buy? if i'm using a nikon 8700 that is? how? 1GB type 2 cf card? but wat brand?

quite a few to choose from lor...the more common brands are scandisk and transcends....I personally use both...but mainly 512mb capacity ones...

oh .. opps sorry again...
then cf card and microdrive... which one faster? i'm using a Nikon 8700
will it affect the write speed say if i'm shooting raw files?

High speed CF cards are faster. CF is more or less dirt cheap these days anyway.
