This had been asked before in hwz forums.

It's rated at 4 Watts/Hour. Unpack and assemble the shelves. Then plug it in and twist the knob to between M to H setting. Leave it to settle the humility to 40%-50% for 1 whole day (24 hours). Then dump your equipment inside.

Alternatively, you can check out the instruction manuals instead.

Saw this brand of dry boxes being promoted by M.S. Colour during the recent PC Show. On the products' brochure saw this: "5-year quality guraranteed".

Don't u think it is highly responsive instead of not responsive? It only goes to show that your hygrometer works. Analogue hygrometers tend to be more sensitive than digital ones. Digital hygrometers will take a longer time to detect any change in humidity. It is not abnormal for the meter to shoot up when you open your dry cabinet since the Relative Humidity in Singapore is always between 55% and 95%. Now that you know your meter is working, the next thing you need to know is whether it is accurate.

set the meter at 50%, juz to make sure that if the error is +/-5%, it's still alrite.

How sure are you that your meter is within +/-5% accuracy? I had put 2 meters to the test and found that both of them were +/-7% off the mark.

from what they say on the brochure that it's between +/- 5%...
anyway, u juz cannot know which meter is telling u the correct reading. the initial calibration for the meters for all u know might be wrong. unless u buy those industrial meters. even if it's +/- 7%, keeping it at ard 50% gives u the safest bet

Got the $88 dry cabinet from carrefour yesterday. Have tried turning the knob to left and right but the meter does not get set at 50% it moves between 65% to 80%.

Anyone can help by telling me whick marking do I set to get 50%?? There are A, B and C markings. Do I need to wait for a few hours after turning the knob at a level before it gets set.

I think there should be an instruction manual. I bought the digi cab model from carrefour, The manual states which humidity level corresponds to which setting on the dial.

The humidity level will take quite some time to stabilise, especially when you start it up first time or when you open the door for some time. Leave it overnight to stabilise for first time start up.
