JNC SSF-M3 player used with cf card reader

can anyone verify that a jnc ssf-m3 can be used direct (via the cradle) without a pc, to copy files from a cf card reader ?

(I just bought a female to female USB connector so as to test it, but I don't have the player and the sales staff at SLS dare not let me try.)

I asked JNC tech support about it and they said the player can, but I'm not completely certain they understand what i mean..

(in otherwords, act as portable storage)

answer: no it can't. (but I bought the player anyway. great great price)

how much did you get this player for, and where?

iirc, about $638 from some shop in sim lim. still going strong.

bad points: firmware updates, you actually have to look for cowon rather jnc, and the various "brand" names/websites aren't updated simultaneously. support is haphazard.
