Nikon 300mm f/4 with 6T
Being a bit lazy about changing lenses when I'm wandering around Ubin or some other suburban clime, I decided to see what would happen if I stuck a Nikon 6T onto my 300mm f/4 AF-S--being that it's easier to squeeze macro out of a long lens than vice versa.
100% crop, no PP except for CA removal, shot hand-held at 1/320 on a D700 using the pop-up flash, other EXIF is in the file:
DOF is thin, as expected; and sharpness at this aperture leaves something to be desired; but it beats the heck out of changing lenses (and missing the next bird shot) just to get a quick bug shot. Oh, almost forgot: no vignetting whatsoever using a 77mm to 62mm step-down ring.
I think my model needs a shave, though . . .
