Default A solid tripod good for travelling?

Hey guys

I am currently sourcing for a good tripod which basically is stable enough but not heavy.

I have looked thru the Manfrotto 190B and I think its kinda too heavy to carry when you are travelling.

So any idea of a lighter tripod?

if budget is not a concern, go for one of the carbon fibre tripods.

budget's a concern for me and I don't carry heavy equipment overseas (max so far is <700g camera, <400g lens, <400g flash), so I make do with the slik sprint pro gm (+head less than 1.2kg).

I got myself a manfrotto 390B.

It's much lighter than the 190+head, and is quite compact for travel purpopses. I've taken it to a few places and I have never felt the burden like my old 190B and the huge 468RC ball head.

I got mine from fotoguide (but the shop has closed now), dunno who sells it these days, or whether it has been superseded by a newer model.
